Broad bands of iron wash create a bold, layered landscape across this tall stoneware vessel. Dark iron accumulations alternate with irregular breaks of exposed cream clay, while the weathered transitions between the bands give the surface a sense of depth and movement. The taller, narrower form emphasizes the vertical rhythm of the composition and gives this small vessel a surprisingly substantial presence.
